31st International ALTA Conference
Sustainable Mining
Building Resilient, Low-Impact & Nature-Positive Mines
25-26 May 2027
As mining responds to growing demand for critical minerals, tighter environmental expectations and climate-related risks, sustainable mining is increasingly an operational and technical priority. The ALTA Sustainable Mining conference will explore practical technologies, research and strategies that deliver measurable improvements in environmental performance, resource efficiency and long-term resilience. Topics will include low-carbon mining and processing, water security and management, nature-positive mining, mine waste and tailings reprocessing, critical-mineral recovery, climate resilience, environmental monitoring and data, progressive rehabilitation and closure, and circular approaches to mining. We welcome case studies, research and technology developments demonstrating real-world implementation, quantified outcomes, regulatory readiness and practical lessons from Australia and international mining operations.
Coverage will include, but is not limited to:
- Low-Carbon Mining and Mineral Processing: Decarbonization, Electrification and Renewable Energy
- Water Security, Water Management, Recycling and Treatment
- Tailings Reprocessing, Risk Reduction and Critical Mineral Recovery
- Mine Waste Valorisation and Circular Resource Recovery
- Nature-Positive Mining, Biodiversity and Environmental Restoration
- Climate Resilience and Adaptation in Mining Operations
- Environmental Monitoring, Data, AI, and Digital Technologies
- Progressive Rehabilitation, Mine Closure and Long-Term Environmental Management
- Sustainable Critical-Mineral Extraction, Processing, and Refining
- Life-Cycle Environmental Performance, Carbon and Resource Efficiency
The deadline for priority consideration is 6 November 2026.
All proposals are subject to review by session chairpersons and/or the Scientific Advisory Committee to ensure the overall quality of the conference program. Additionally, as per Cambridge EnerTech’s policy, a select number of vendors and consultants who provide products and services will be offered opportunities for podium presentation slots based on a variety of Corporate Sponsorships.
